First day of school

It is truly hard to beleive that my BABY is old enough for school! But, there is no denying it:



Her brother started Second grade today and little miss started Kindergarten. My how time flies!

We are back safe and sound. I am now in the midst of washing laundry, going through mail and catching up with online items.

I will post more in the next day or two.... I will also post some pics once I get some on the computer.

Gold Season Passes

One of our summer activities is to purchase Gold Season Passes to Kings Dominion. For those that are not familiar with Virginia...this is an amusement park owned by Paramount.

The "Gold" passes are ones bought very early in the season for the best price of the year.

We started doing this three years ago and LOVE IT! For less than the cost of two visits, we go all summer. It is a one hour drive each way from our house. Also, after 5 visists, you get a free pass for a friend.

We used two of those today...for a savings of $70.00!

It was fun and we always bring our food....no sense paying THAT much for food there!

Hi all,

Today I am taking a few moments to reflect on the week before I go and work on the bathrooms. LOL

Well, my mom went home on Wednesday. :-( I hope she will be able to get back out here again soon.

I have almost all the school supplies for the two little ones. DsS16 will not get his list until after school starts, but I do have some basics that he usually needs. Hey, I have to take advantage of Virginia's "tax-free" weekend. Every penny counts.

Which brings me to yesterday (Friday)!!! Our A/C unit decides to quit working at about 4 p.m. yesterday!!!! Just in time for overtime rates with the service company!!! HOW DO THEY KNEW THE TIME!!!!!!!! LOL

Thankfully it was something MINOR and the bill was ONLY $158.58! (Yes, that was on the sarcastic side, but we were VERY worried about losing our vacation over the A/C unit!)

Vacation is still on the schedule! Fortunately, DH had some overtime on this check...so the a/c didn't completely throw me off budget!
